Sara Almond, APR Named

2020 Dick Baumbach PR Professional of the Year

 

 

Congratulations to SCFPRA President, Sara Almond, APR, who was named this year’s Dick Baumbach PR Professional of the Year! This award is the highest honor that a chapter member can receive.
Sara has been involved with the Space Coast chapter for five years. She has served in various board roles, dedicated her time and energy to ensure the success of its programs and events, and has proven herself to be a leader in the PR industry. Most notably, during the COVID19 pandemic, she has gone to great measure to continue to develop incredible programs on timely topics to benefit members’ professional development and growth.
In addition to her role as president, Sara serves as the Community Relations Specialist for Brevard Public Schools. She works with community leaders, faith-based organizations, non-profits, businesses, senior citizens, and other key stakeholders to help drive and support our local schools.

Space Coast Area Chambers Receive

2020 Communicator of the Year Award

 

Congratulations to the Space Coast Area Chambers of Commerce who were collectively named as this year’s Communicator of the Year. The Space Coast chambers include the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber, the Greater Palm Bay Chamber, the Melbourne Regional Chamber, and the Titusville Area Chamber.
The Space Coast area Chambers of Commerce did a phenomenal job communicating with the business community in our area during the COVID-19 pandemic. They each offered support to local businesses and local government by hosting virtual meetings, networking opportunities, and professional development webinars. Each chamber was a reliable resource for its business community during the pandemic.

Rachel Horst Named 2020 Rising Star

 

Congratulations to the 2020 Rising Star, Rachel Horst! The Rising Star Award is presented to an FPRA member of less than three years who has made significant contributions to the chapter and is interested in or already involved with the chapter board. They are also actively pursuing more leadership roles within the chapter.
This year, Rachel served as the board secretary and has grown tremendously as a public relations professional. She has also made significant strides in her professional career over the past few years accepting a position with the City of Cocoa as its Digital Communications Coordinator. In both her position on the board and with the city, she has taken strides to organize and innovate while continuing to execute her roles with excellence.
