About J.B. Kump:
J. B. Kump is the President and CEO of Communication and Event Solutions, LLC. He currently serves as chairman of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce. He has more than 45 years of global public relations experience and a background in political and campaign consulting, fundraising, event management and disaster response. Kump is a 25 year resident of Titusville, where he moved with his family after a successful career in the U.S. Air Force, ending in Los Angeles, California. As an Air Force public affairs professional, Kump led communication teams, taught others at the University level, served on disaster response teams and acted as America’s official public spokesperson in a number of sensitive international situations. Following his Air Force career, Kump was involved in several political campaigns, corporate marketing efforts and in a variety of business, government and non-profit entities.
As district director for Congressman Dave Weldon (FL-15) Kump led the congressman’s district offices in constituent relations, community and government relations for a four-county region. In that role, he supervised a staff of seven in four offices and served as the principal liaison to more than 500,000 constituents on behalf of the Congressman. Kump is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America & the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA). In 2000 he was named “PR Professional of the Year” by the Space Coast FPRA Chapter. Kump has been married to the former Shirley Ward of Fulton Missouri for 48 years. Shirley is a former communications director for the San Pedro, California Chamber of Commerce. The couple has two grown children and three grandsons.
Kump holds an MS degree in Human Services/Human Resources earned through Boston University’s overseas program. His undergraduate degree in speech, drama and psychology was awarded by the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO where Kump was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity and a varsity cheerleader for the Mizzou Tigers.
